Probably one of the fastest barrels to keyhole out there.
They're garbage. The Russians I knew didn't consider it a serious weapon for Spetsnaz use, and they do better as a shoulder trophy for cops in the cities. |

OP, if you want one, get one. Get it out of your system. It'll be an itch you can't scratch until you do.
For me, the AKMS 74 is short enough and has the historical appeal (from the Soviet-Afghan War) to wet my whistle, but that's just me. The 5.45X39 mm round is just plain fun to shoot either way. |

I've always read that the obsession Americans have with them is totally out of proportion to their usefulness to Soviet/FSU troops. I'm sure a lot of that has been their unobtanium status for so long.
That said, I fall into that demographic and have two. Not everything in the safe has to be practical. They are just plain cool and that's enough for me.
