The aftermath looked pretty damn realistic, compared to that "middle eastern guy casually sitting in a chair with exploded head" video from a couple days ago.

Saw the movie when it came out (as a kid). Creepoy and scary at he time, but still cheesy.

Funny thing that I still remember it to this day.

I remember watching this on Betamax, rewinding this scene on a rented tape and replaying it over and over just to figure out how they did it....

You aren't missing much. The fun part was the exploding head and that is in the first few minutes. The final battle is laughable.
