It was 10+ years old and I abused it horribly.

I have to have a propane grill at least a 3 burner, they have to be side by side, and individually controlled (I like smoking ribs with indirect heat.)

So recommend me something. No charcoal, no big green egg... It has to be just a normal old gas grill.

Weber charcoal grills don't die...

They just... fade away.

Craigslist first.  Look for a used, high end grill before buying a new grill made of beer cans from China.

usually you can replace the burners. What broke on the grill?

Oh, I dunno. The dang thing has 11 years of weathering on it. I didn't take care of it. It was a Char-Broil. I don't feel like refurbing the rust bucket. I feel like a new one is in order.

Genesis seems a tad expensive.

Anybody got a Char-Broil they like? I really did like mine. I wish I'd kept better care of it. I will on the next one.

Weber grill last longer than the rust-bucket Char-Broils

plus, there are more accessories and replacement parts so you don't have to buy a entire new grill every few years

What died? It could probably be repaired/rigged to work again.

Why not another charbroil.  I bought the one below  in 2004 and my wife was admiring what great shape it was in the other day.
It has never been covered or under a roof.  The only thing I have replaced was the flame deflectors and grease tray (I fabbed one out of a stainless shelf i found).

I fent down that road.  Old Char-Grill, ordered new burners (3 side by side) and replaced.

Once the rust sets in, it just gets worse and worse.  I got another 2 years out of mine.

Then it took a trip beside the road.  Gone in 10 minutes.

I have replaced everything on my grill except for the shell several times. 13 years out of an $80 grill isn't bad. Repair is usually a $20ish trip to HD.

Weber Grills, they have a nice variety.  I had one that lasted 12 years and was still going strong, started to shows signs or wear.  In the 12 years, never had one repair, gave it a thorough cleaning once a year to two years, kept it covered when not in use.  I sold it off for $150.00 and the reason I did that is because the home we were moving to we added a outdoor kitchen and no longer had the need for it.

I like the looks of that.

I tried to keep mine covered, but we get winds that would always rip the cover off. I gave up after a while. So, it rusted. It wasn't stainless to begin with. I think it was a Big Easy model.

Just ai t the same...

But eventually I'll probably get a gas one in addition to the weber for wintertime grilling. Less fun tending to charcoal in 12deg weather

Got my first Weber from a garage sale for $25 and it included a full tank of propane.  Used it for about 4 years, then gave it a $150 overhaul - still going strong (about 10 years into it).  My wag is that it is probably a 20 year old grill by now.

Not too expensive, just need to shop around a bit.

Yeah, they might be pricey but they last almost forever.

I have one that is almost 25 years old (my LP model) and it is still going strong - I've only had to replace the burners once.

My other Genesis is natural gas and is plumbed into my house it is almost 15 years old and still works like new.

You can buy them cheap and replace them when they wear out, or you can buy them once and maintain them cheaply.

I use my outdoor grills 5 days out of 7 year around.
