New SSD drive, i7 5960x and 32 gigs of RAM.

Not too shabby.

Wonder if I should overclock or run it stock??  It has a Asus x99 mobo that has lots of fun options.

(and an Nvidia quadro k4200)

How did you end up with 34 gigs of ram?

Seems odd...I usually use sticks of 8 or 16 when I am building a larger machine.

Also, if you would have installed from thumb drive or usb SSD, it would have gone even faster.

Nah, just make sure you have the service pack and recent patches slipstreamed and it goes much faster. I can get a Win7 Enterprise machine online in less than an hour from bare metal to ready to give to the end user.

Typo - meant 32.

Thumb drive I had was about the same speed. Did the install a couple times.  This box doesn't have an optical drive, so I tried the thumb drive with a 'master' version on Win 7, but it didn't like the OEM key.

I doubt that setup will be quick if you are only doing one.

10 of the same machines?   Sure.
