I'm about to buy a brand new Mazda3 leftover from 2014. I know there's probably some depreciation involved, but the car is marked well down.

Are there any other concerns I should have?

I would be more concerned with buying a new body style year car....you gotta give those at least 2 years so they can figure out the bugs. I believe 2014 is still the older body so your good to go

Production of the 3rd generation Mazda3 (the new body style) started in June 2013. The car I'm looking at rolled off the line in January of 2014.

The engine is a 2.0, and it looks like they've been using that in the 3 since 2012.

I'm probably past the point of no return anyways.

Does this effect the warranty in any way?

I'd assume a warrant doesn't begin until the customer signs for it.
