I'm 200 lbs and tend to be skeptical of weight ratings on things like this. Anyone have any experience with these particular ones? What he said. I'm around 250 when on a fat and 230 regular weight. Will this sumbitch pitch me in the dirt? I weight about 195, and I've spent a bunch of nights in mine with no problems. On a cold night, I also have a pad, sleeping bag, etc. I've also hung an eno gear sling from mine to hold a pack and rifle. Just pitch it at the correct angle with the proper suspension and you should be fine. |

Went to order and they didn't give the option of changing payment method. Pushed it straight through my personal account... Wtf? What online retailer doesn't give you chance to change payment method before charging?? View Quote |

is the quality of these hammocks on par with say ENO? They seem to be lighter in specs. I currently just use an eno double nest and hennessy hex fly. for my set up. it's a nice set up for me b/c I usually just use my tent b/c it's lighter for the most part than my hammock set up haha . May get one for a spare though.

Got two
This will be my second summer taking my son out camping. Time to move him up to backpacking in remote areas where being off the ground allows you to sleep safer and sounder |
|
Eh, I resisted all day...but what the hell. In for one and a rainfly. Combined they were cheaper than my ENO doublenest was.
|
|
Ordered. I wanted one of these last time they were on sale but I missed it when I had a chance to try to order.
Might make a day trip out to the middle of nowhere on the motorcycle once I figure out how to set it up. |
|
I'm trying to come up with reasons to buy it while I already have all the camping equipment I need.
But someday I want to be a backpacker...... |
|
In for 2 and 2 flies.
The boy's been wanting to do some backpacking so this should be good for him. Shoot, even the girl started getting excited about it when she found out. |
|

|
Dammit I missed it.
Wanted to get some for this summers camping trip too. |

Any suggestions for a first-time buyer who plans to? If you plan to overnight in one, make sure to use either an underquilt or some sort of mattress with it. Otherwise you will get a cold backside due to lack of insulation. This is my first hammock. Would a sleeping bag be sufficient? Or are you not supposed to use a sleeping bag with a hammock? |

On colder nights you will want some sort of pad under you, otherwise a sleeping bag won't be sufficient to block the cold air. Some people use these. I use a Thermarest pad along with a 20*F down bag in the colder months. |

Otherwise you will get a cold backside due to lack of insulation. This is my first hammock. Would a sleeping bag be sufficient? Or are you not supposed to use a sleeping bag with a hammock? When you use a sleeping bag, you are crushing the insulation with your weight. This allows the wind to steal your heat via convection. A sleeping bag will work great for the rest of your body, but your backside will still get cold. Place a thermarest under your sleeping bag, and you'll be fine. The thermarest helps trap the warm air and keeps your backside warm. If overnight temps are above 70, you'll probably not need the pad, but I bring one anyway. |

Got mine today... Seems very well built.. Was disappointed to see there is no suspension system as the description said it was ready to go out of the box.. I have some from my other hammock but will end up getting a dedicated one for this one as not to switch back and forth.
|
|
Got mine yesterday and now I've been sucked into suspensions systems ... continuous loops, whoopie slings, DutchWare Dutch Buckles, Hammock Fan's titanium anchors ... my head is spinning.
I just want a fairly robust setup but trying to shave every ounce is not one of my overall goals. |
|
did you guys get a shipping confirmation or anything?
havn't heard anything since they said they charged me |

I'll probably get something nicer for the long run. |

19oz for the single with the netting, so yes. But a full hammock sleep system with insulation and rainfly can get as heavy, or heavier than a single BP tent and air mattress. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I'm tempted. Got a backpacker coming up in a month with kids from the church. We were going to build shelters but this would be much be easier. Are these light enough that I'm going to want to stick them in backpacks? What do they weigh, any idea? 19oz for the single with the netting, so yes. But a full hammock sleep system with insulation and rainfly can get as heavy, or heavier than a single BP tent and air mattress. It's not always about having a lighter setup. Personally I find the flexibility and comfort of a hammock considerably greater than any tent of equal or lesser weight. |

I bought one and a rainfly last year and it worked great for me. I grabbed another one along with a rainfly for the wife, it arrived yesterday.
