FORT EDWARD, N.Y. - The trial of an inmate charged with knocking out his lawyer during a meeting in an upstate New York jail has been delayed after he attacked his new lawyer in the courtroom.

The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports 34-year-old Aaron Jabot was charged with assault for allegedly attacking his lawyer in the Washington County Jail in April 2014. At the time, Jabot was jailed after police say he stabbed two people in a local bar just days after being released from prison.

During a break in Thursday's trial, witnesses say Jabot attacked his new attorney, Fred Rench, before court officers intervened. Rench suffered a cut hand.

Jabot was taken back to the jail.

Rench says he won't pursue charges against Jabot and will continue to represent him.

The trial is scheduled to continue Friday.

Sounds like someone needs to be chained down like a vicious dog.

The accused must have a rich uncle. I can't think of any other explanation here. Guy just got out of the pokie, so obviously he doesn't have any money himself.

 

Well, at least the guy is consistent.

Maybe the lawyer realizes that someone has to represent him to have a fair trial.  At which point, he will be convicted of the stupid shit he does and go back to prison.  Besides, he will probably be in shackles and strapped to a chair for his next appearance.

Well, it appears to me that the perp is creating delays by assaulting his attorneys. This is not uncommon. There was guy a on death row in Texas that kept assaulting other inmates and staff in order to put off his execution. It ultimately didn't work.
