this is frequently an all-day task, usually once a week. lapping a bunch of actions.
craptacular camera orientation because of how i had to prop it up. 
basically, I get paid to masturbate for 10 hours straight once a week. I have been training for this job my entire life lol. |

Lapping. basically we run liquid sandpaper between the receiver's recoil face, and the bolt's recoil lugs until they are worn down and fully contacting eachother. this is a good thing. |

Those of you who keep pounding IrOnbunny about building a machine need lay off. I believe him when he says he can do it better and with less headache not using a machine. I regularly have to lap silicon carbide seals for pumps. The Co. bought a lapping machine at a cost of 10k. It takes forever to set up to do a 10 min job and it has to have fixtures made for each individual size of seal. I can hand lap the seals in 10 min with an old surface plate, get the seals just as flat and have the pump back together before the lapping machine gets set up.
