I've always wanted to make my single stack 1911 the same width as a double stack 2011.

So a proprietary holster for the proprietary grip-rail-frame armor thing?

Brilliant!

Oh, and that's a lot of open air around that trigger.
So, no thanks.

I get why they did it (the light), but the trigger should be as minimally exposed as possible, like at the top only.
Like every other light bearing holster in existence.

I saw one of these at my local cabela's last week, and that is one of the first thoughts that went through my head.  Great idea, but it needs to be much slimmer before I'd even try it.

let's you put a rail on a 1911 or beretta that does not have one. Does look kinda cool

Surefire makes a much simpler solution which only requires replacing the slide stop. http://www.surefire.com/mr07-mounting-rail.html

Never used it since my 1911s have rails, but I have one somewhere that came with a light I ordered. Seems like a better option and doesn't require a proprietary holster and custom grips.
