Doesn't matter. Will be widespread here by new years. Ofucko still hasn't restricted travel from Africa and the region. More will happily fly their asses over here coming in contact with hundreds.

It makes you wonder why, in the face of a potential epidemic, that the govt hasnt restricted travel to West Africa

We aren't Africa.  If shit happens here we could handle it much better, since it isn't airborne.  Not to say some won't get it, but the only fear I have is if Ebola positive people are in the food service industry.  That could spread shit far and wide.

I am not a "tin foiler" by any means. But there are SEVERAL top docs out there including ones at our OWN CDC suggesting that this strain of ebola has evolved and can in fact be transmitted airborne(ly)? And there seems to be quite a push to hush that up to prevent full blown panic. Diseases and sicknesses evolve all the time it is more than plausible that this has evolved and can be spread through the air.

Never saw that while I lived there.

Did see lots of bats, fish, primates (monkeys and otherwise), and the occasional reptile eaten.

That feral dogs are doing this does not surprise me in the slightest, but I'd be far more worried about the lice and mosquitoes transmitting virus phages from sick persons to healthy persons.  Right now is the July-October rainy (i.e., mosquito) season. To give an idea of how bad it can be, in Monrovia, in 2005 half the population was affected by malaria

That nothing county judge Clay Jenkins and health director Zack Thompson both went inside and hung out unprotected.  Saw the footage of them going in and coming out on local news.

Not yet, anyway.
A study of the initial patients diagnosed with the virus in Sierra Leone revealed almost 400 genetic modifications.

Apparently we were both wrong,

The BLU-82 was retired in 2008 and replaced with the more powerful MOAB,

The GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB known as the Mother of All Bombs) is a large-yield conventional (non-nuclear) bomb.

I think the article said it could be spread by dogs eating or biting corpses of the infected and then licking or biting another person.

Note:  Do not let your dog slip the tongue if it has been eating ebola corpses.

Um, do we even know if dogs can harbor the virus?

There is a good chance they can't act as hosts (though possibly short term gross contaminant conveyors).

Right because we've done such a good job containing Hepatitis and AIDS both of which are more easily prevented than Ebola, or even the flu for that matter which has a vaccine. Understand this, Ebola will spread through American homes, schools, neighborhoods and workplaces just as it does in Africa. The biology is the same.

Just read this on Fox, my surprised face ,

In October 2014, the first patient on American soil infected with the Ebola virus sits in isolation in a Texas hospital, prompting calls for travel restrictions between the United States and Ebola-stricken countries.

Meanwhile, four years ago, the administration of President Barack Obama moved with virtually no fanfare to abandon a comprehensive set of regulations which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had called essential to preventing international travelers from spreading deadly diseases inside the United States.
