Those are the loudest sons-a-bitches ever made. Got to see one flying Nap-of-the-Earth in north Nevada once. Gave me wood. It was painted in woodland camo.  |

I was sitting outside at the club at AUAB when one took off on afterburner and stayed that way until out of sight. It was awesome and I hope whoever needed them was reached in time.

Loud airplane. Many, many years ago, the wife and I were laying on the beach in SC. I was looking out over the ocean and saw an aircraft dashing towards the coast fast and low. As it got closer, it slowed down, the wigs swept forward and it looked like it went over my head in slow motion. Then the burners kicked in and he was gone.

My Grandfather worked on the B-1 in the transonic wind tunnel at Rockwell. Love that airplane. I've got some old black and white photos of him around somewhere with small B-1 models set up in the tunnel getting ready for a run.

Once upon a time they used to have fly overs at Newport, RI for Naval War College graduations that one rumbled the building I worked in on the base and reverberated throughout Narragansett Bay...made the bad ass fighters before and after seem anemic..

A coworker of mine flew those not too long ago. He said it was a bit unnerving the first time he actually used the low level terrain following radar. He did say that it was an awesome aircraft to fly!

I've seen them at Nellis, at air shows and in Afghanistan... I was a UAV operator and one night I saw a flash of something on my PO's screen (IR at night) and asked him to go back. Zoomed in, focused and there was a Bone with the burners on. Made me feel slow
