Why US? We are always expected to save the day. Our economy sucks we did more than our part for over 10 years why can't counties like China go help? Hell they can use it as training to get some experience for their troops and test some equipment out there while looking like hero's.

I'm amazed their ships even make it to the anti piracy areas.  There is no way they could transport the men and material any distance, much less for a potential long term engagement.

ignoring their ability to project force, I'd argue even better than we could. China won't give a shit about ROE and would adopt a scorched earth policy, and terrorist propaganda would likely be less effective against China.

Because China is smart enough to know not to get involved in the Middle East.

China is historically isolationist, and a land power. The USA is historically interventionist, and a sea power.

ISIS is a State Department or CIA creation.  Remember they're the rejects who couldn't defeat Assad in Syria. They decided to go after an easier prey:  Iraq.

I wish European countries, particularly those that are members of NATO, would get more involved.

So far Europe has been doing what it always does - nothing.

Which relies on American commercial shipping, American commercial distribution, and American commercial sales; all which are controlled by American businessmen and financed by American money.

The Chinese once deployed 50 (FIFTY!) "peacekeepers" to a certain central African country, and could not supply them by their own entirely-domestic means.
They had to pay to live off the local economy. Which means they were entirely dependent upon the locals, and were financially raped by the locals.

Considering a map of the territory that ISIS wants to control within 5 years includes all the way from Spain to India and a good chunk of western China...If things get too close within a few years China will smack them no doubt.

And another with slightly different boundaries.

They can't import ammo into the US.

China would rather there be a dictatorship or some other form of governance than a democracy; that's why.

If ISIS takes over China has no problem with that, because the USA will boycott and sanction them allowing China to be the sole large purchaser of their Oil.  Iraq has the world's 5th largest Oil Reserve and China would have no moral reservations whatsoever about dealing with head chopping nut jobs if it meant they could maintain the economic growth necessary for the Communist government to appease the people and stay in power.

If you look at what China is doing in Sudan and other parts of Africa right now you'll see they have no trouble dealing in blood money.

Fuck Yeah. I always win Monopoly by trying to hold nothing more than I started with, because I start practically broke. Sure, I've lost every time, but it works different in international politics and I'm sure its a winning strategy then.

They *couldn't,* or they attempted to contract out to a third party (locals) because it wouldn't be worth using domestical supplies for such a small force? There's a huge difference. Not to say that the latter isn't extremely common, but...

According to Top Gear, the best journalists in the world, China was worked with a couple countries for production of oil in exchange for them developing infrastructure for the African nation. That' isn't really blood money IMHO.

Chine has it's own militant Muslim problem, why would they get themselves involved over there when we are? Chine has it's eye's on the PAC rim area, the ME is only of interest because of oil and they have other ways of getting that.
