yup. And honestly its better. LMIF had a pretty UI but team viewer gives you more options and is easier to install and use.

Unless you own your own business and it's your work computer, I would follow whatever company policy is.

I've see people fired for using LogMeIn and TeamViewer instead of the corporate VPN.

Just remember - if you can get into your machine remotely, anyone with malicious intent and a good set of skills can as well.

At my company, we have to specifically make a "hole" in the firewall for anyone to remote in, and they are only allowed on to a DMZ server. Our IT guys then remote from there to get whatever needs doing done, and someone keeps an eye on what the remote client is doing until they log off.
