No, most countries have leadership with a sense of national pride.

Other?

Other than Wallis and Futuna I assume. (given I have no idea what their policy is)
but  since they only have a population of 12,000 or so, I guess if you can get there you can stay.

I was reading a very interesting interview today, in which some journalist guy was lamenting that the real problem in eastern Ukraine is not that people only had access to Russian propaganda, but that they actively sought it out - as they rejected anything other than the "the fascists have taken over Europe and want to rape your family" narrative as lies.

I thought of this place.

There is less indication in traveling over the Belgian/French border than there is passing between states here.  I suspect things are similar between all the EU countries.

Lilliput, Blefuscu, and Wonderland are the only ones that come to mind.

I recently started a Facebook account to keep in touch with family.  It started growing, and now I am wondering how people make it through the day.  I once thought ignorance and rage were a pseudo-anonymous internet thing, but I now know that people will actually attach their real names to the crazy and even spew it in front of their entire community.

I'm considering deleting it.  The stupid is disturbing my chi.

Specifically, it's a Schengen area thing - which originated in the EU, but does not encompass all of the EU.  In fact, it has several non-EU country as part of it - including Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.

You can block family member's posts whil still keeping them as "friends" for mass messaging, to allow them to post on your wall, etc.  I highly recommend it.

I figured that was the deal, I just haven't seen the other borders with my own eyes.

Of course it only works because the countries so connected are more or less economic peers.  I can't think of any uncontrolled or loosely controlled borders between areas of widely varying economic status.

The economic disparites within the Schengen zone can be pretty drastic.
