North of me rag publishes results of buy back program.
In the lead Pic I see 2 AR's and a PTR. What is the other rifle? |
What kind of a stupid fuck would sell a non-stolen AR for a $200 grocery card?
As much as I hate these, sometimes I wish they'd have one out here... I'd stand out front and buy a ton of fun guns foe rock bottom prices.
That poor pre-lock Model 25
The G3 clone looks like a FA-91, not a PTR. |
Or people who didn't register, or who don't know if their deceased relative did or not.
"Wellen said that two TEC-9s were turned in, which she said police were happy about as the weapons are especially dangerous and easy to conceal."
. Fucking idiot. |
I never hear of gun buybacks near me. I have inherited some crappy guns that are several decades old. Most of them don't even work. Rohm and a couple other garbage brands. I would love to get some $200 gift cards.
Y'all, this is an outstanding idea that I support 200%!
In fact, I'm thinking of doing my own gun-buyback, to take evil weapons off the streets. And to put them directly into my safe. AR-15s and AKs will get a $100 voucher, usable at my garage sale. Heck, if they have ACOGs or Eotechs, I may give $101 vouchers. Zip guns and the like will get $.10 vouchers. This is a great idea!!! |
Pure ignorance to trade any AR for a $200 food voucher(unless it was stolen) most of the guns turned in during those things are old beaters willed to people, probably don't even work, but hey it makes them feel like they are doing something.
If I had a bunch of extra stripped lowers or completed lowers, I would hang out and offer the ones with AR-15's $200 for the complete upper. I would then put the upper on a lower I know to be legit I bought (in case the buyback lower is not) and rock it all day long. They can turn in their lower for the $200 dollar gift card. Its still considered a firearm yo........

I bought a beat to shit Ithaca model 49 or something like that one time at a gun show for under $100.00
I messed around with it, had some fun plinking, etc, and got bored with it. Found out there was a gun buyback and sold it to the cops for $200.00 I'd love to do it again. |
Next time they do this around here, I'm going to piece together a thousand "zip" .22's and make a fortune!
I wonder if the mint unfired S&W model 25 will be destroyed...or the WWII era .45 auto......fucking joke
I wonder how many are planted items, just so they make the paper.
Man. what a sad lose on some of those items. That unfired smith... the ww2 colt... a Nazi k98...

Hammer spring was toast...rest was working...lost a slide pin. Figured to do what you did.... Wife went down with it...they had radio play "100$ " gift cards etc etc.... Hand guns only got 50$... but that's 50 more than I started with LOL Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I'm going to buy 300 $100 visa gift cards and host my own gun buy back
I really wish they would include some clause that if the weapons have historical value they can be offered to a museum or something. I can see the headline now.."Hero cop kills suspect perpetrating a mass shooting...shooter fired military issue flintlock, capable of firing 4 shots in 5 minutes, at man from 4ft and missed".

Anyone else here the ASPCA commercial when they see these threads? all these poor neglected firearms need a good home.

I wonder if gun owners sponsored these buy backs, would it be considered dealing without a license?

I wouldn't let my worst enemy shoot it. I got a $200 visa card and put it towards some EBR accessories. They know these are pointless, but city officials want to look good for the citizenry. |
The quality of guns at that "buy-back" are of much higher quality than usual.
Edit: Quote from the article: “We gave them a gift card and a cookie and they sweetly went on their way,” |

The cities are full of the stupidest lot of oxygen thieves imaginable. |
Gun buy-backs are political stunts. Would not be at all surprised if they made sure they had a few goodies set aside to donate to the photographic cause before they even started.
If these guns are indeed stolen, are the organizers being charged with receiving stolen property if there are no attempts being made to return them to their rightful owners?
So if someone steals one of my guns and then pawns it, I can report it stolen, get the gun back and press criminal charges.
But what happens if someone steals one of my guns and then buy-backs it and the department destroys it? Can I hold them liable for the damages? Can I press charges on the perp? |

What about that "London" stamped flintlock? Shouldn't that be in a museum???
