As the U.S.-Mexico border has been inundated with children crossing alone and ending up
detained in U.S. facilities, liquid methamphetamines are also flowing across the border. The liquid form allows smugglers to disguise the substance in beverage and repurposed plastic containers until reaching a meth house where it is cooked down to crystal form to be sold. View Quote The Central Valley is not the only place traffickers are getting caught. Down at the border the 16-year-old suspected of smuggling, “volunteered to take 'a big sip'" to convince inspectors the liquid he had was only apple juice, not meth. The teenager began screaming in pain and died within hours” reported AP. View Quote |

Nothing new...
It's an unfinished version that is easier to transport. |

When I was young, my dad made me eat tobacco when he caught me with it.
Seems only fair we do the same with them. |

Next thing you know they'll discover a cross border pipeline for transporting it.

Nothing new? Liquid meth is pretty much a common thing, i guess the media just found out about it.

That is a crazy situation down @ the boarder... And it would all go away overnight if drugs were legalized. Unlikely. Criminality is a constant. Think of it as a half inflated balloon - if you apply pressure on one spot it bulges where the pressure is not being applied. Likewise If you take away one kind of criminality, the criminals have to find another way to make money. In the end you just end up with shit loads of legalised drugs being supplied to people who live fucked up lives, and a growing criminal enterprise in another field of business that you also have to contend with, probably undermining a legitimate industry. Even then it may not work.....Heroin users in the UK can enter a programme to go on methadone, a medically prescribed substitute. Even so, many will still illegally obtained opiates while on the methadone programme. Drug bans are not just about trying to stop some smack head messing their life up on chemical substances...... it is a means of containment and control of a criminal constant through a market that can be manipulated and influenced to a degree by it;s own diversity. Legalise drugs and you may reduce criminal involvement in drugs, but you may not like where that criminality will start to emerge as a result. |

People will always want to migrate to where there are better opportunities and governance, or to flee conditions at home such as war, famine, strife, etc. You're also not going to end all the problems associated with drugs by simply legalzing them. This seems to be some utopian panacea often proclaimed here. |

How about we just end welfare and see where we stand? He's right. We've always had people coming here illegally. My wife's father came here in the early 70's illegally. He didn't come here for welfare, he came here for the opportunity to live a better life than the one he had. He got his green card and eventually became a citizen. He's a great man, and for you to think that welfare is the problem shows your ignorance. |

And they're bussing all of those kids here to AZ. Thanks Obama. Apparently, since we've been calling bullshit on his "secure" border his entire presidency, we're the perfect place to store thousands of illegals, many of them kids, until they can be deported.
