It's an ancient ritual on AR15.com, dating back to the days of the great Genesis. Wise men speak of it's use. Great responsibility must be used when uttering 'BTT'
Umm... it simply means Back to The Top. I.E., when you reply to a thread, it moves back to the top of the list of threads. Most people tend to start at the top, so this brings a thread back to the top of people's attention. |

It means what MQ said--at least the second part. [b]B[/b]ump [b]T[/b]o [b]T[/b]op, or [b]B[/b]ack [b]T[/b]o [b]Top[/b]. It will move a thread back to the top of the list w/o actually posting anything relating to the thread. It is used to draw people's attention to something important, as most people peruse from the top down and may not make it to the fourth page.

Don't feel bad, I had to have my 19yr old son explain it to me and even then I didn't get it until he pointed out that I could type in "XYZ" and the act of posting a reply would toss the thread "Back" "To" the "Top" of page 1.
Whew, was I dense. (Note: this is a self admission and no response on my "denseness" is necessary) |
