Aviator, I'm VERY glad you made it out of that neighborhood ALIVE! Try going there now on a Metro-Transit bus, and walk around that hood at night... I'd bet nearly $50.00 you don't get out of that hood without any confrontation! I'm REALLY glad I don't live there!
My old ghetto-hood was about 4 blocks away from the Metrodome, right next to a homeless shelter and a couple bars. I'm VERY happy that I'm usually carrying mace & a knife! My new place is in a peaceful neighborhood along East River Road by HWY 94 & MN280. It's a GREAT place, and not far from campus! Within walking distance to campus & some bars, and my job!
I WAS studying Computer Science, but after having some issues in life arise, I realized that I was only seeking CompSci for the $$. That & I was good at it. But it bored me to death, and the thought of a Consultant Systems Analysis job didn't seem to appealing anymore. Thus I weighed my options, and determined Architecture would be a fun career, and am persuing that now. After about 1 year chasing Architecture, I realized another great thing: I'M REALLY GOOD AT IT, AND I LOVE IT!
So that's my abbreviated story of my college experience thus far, excluding COUNTLESS problems with the University, 8 attempted muggings/assaults, and the long history of psychotic women I've dated.
This job will be a blessing from God. My brother thinks I'll get sick of it quickly, but I doubt that! Even if I do, I can always live off the $$ I'll have saved up, and quit.
This job is going to get me back on my feet fast, it will get my bills paid, and it will still afford me $$ for toys (guns), and free beer/soda! I have to watch my weight though, because I've already gained 10 lbs since the beginning of the year.
I'm thinking I'll really love this job. Thanks for all of your support & your prayers guys!
