That the majority of your 'friends' really were more like associates or people that you just know?
I have maybe 2, 3 at the most I would really say are friends. Everybody wants to be your friend when youre on top of the mountain.... |
|
I like the word acquaintance because it better describes what most people refer to as friends.

Long before I turned 16.
Got in my first fight in 2nd grade.....so that would put me about 8? Poll needs more options. |

I have an incredible number of true friends, the kind who I could show up on their doorstep at 3 am, ask for the keys to their car and leave witheither no questions asked, or them riding shotgun.
I'm a lucky basturd, and at 54, I've been around the block enough to know whats real. |

Depends how broad you your definition of "friend" is.
I have best friends. I have friends I have acquaintances. I have people I hate. |
|
I was around 14 when I stopped using the word "friend". I realized I didn't have any, by any meaningful definition of the word.

I have few friends. They are a few of my buddies from college that would go to hell with a squirt gun for me if I asked. And I probably talk to them once every 3+ months. I don't really have many social acquaintances.

I voted 16, but I feel I knew before then. At 24, my closest friends are 2 guys that I have known for 17 years and my 22 yr old brother: all bury-a-body type guys. I have other friends I consider close and several buddies that I hang out with at least monthly, but can't really count on them in a real pinch.

Dont get the question. All my life I have known people who are not my friend. I have friends, acquaintances, people I know, buddies, guys, and Canadian friends.

If you ever had a good dog you will know what a friend is but other than that theres a lot of people I know and some I like better than others.

I have 3 friends that if I told them to come to the woods with a shovel they would. Have many, many aquaintances. Live in a small town most of your life and that his generally how it works out. I have known for quite some time that pretty much all of them are not friends.

I've never thought everybody was my friend... I can remember since I was four years old only ever having between one and three friends.

90% of my good friends from high school I am still good friends with now. We had a small class (45 or so), but I still hang out with 10 or so good friends from highschool.

I've come to realize I have nothing in common with any of my friends and actually have a better weekend when we don't hang out. On a quest to find new friends...but plan on staying in this weekend because I'm tired

Just in the last year. I found out most of my so called close friends are liberals

Your poll starts at an age well above when I discovered this fact. I think I was about 6 or 7.

Shortly after I learned what pie was..
Aside from SWMBO and 1 of my brothers I dont have any true close friends. I'm also fine with that. |

I noticed most of my friends disappeared after I stopped smoking grass.

There are very, very few whom I would trust to show up in the middle of the night with a tarp, shovel, bags of quicklime, and an acute case of "we were playing poker all night" amnesia. |

I saw a lot of treachery even when i was a kid but by my teens and first job is when I saw the backstabbing and brown nosers. It only got worse over the years after that.

First or second grade.
Now, thirty years later, I can say that I have one or two close friends, and they are real treasures in my life. I have some close family as well. The rest of the people I know are at arms length, and I'm good with that. |

I had a so called friend who was looking at some jail time, I was right there beside him, ready to go down with him. 2 yrs later when I really needed him, he was too busy fucking some skank ass whore he met at a bar the night before. Muther fukker left me high and dry, All was good though, one of my true friends was there to save the day. "So called friend" needed me not long after that, fuck him.
