Well ...

1.Looks like there is a duct cap on that thing and we all know it will magicly stop the bullet so all is OK.

2.Maybe He still had is one round in his left breast pocket.

3.and finally.... Hes Al Gore.. the rules simply dont apply to him..



now every body back in line to turn your weapons in... its the law..

It's a shame that there was no mag in that weapon or at least a round in the chamber to cook-off.....a slam fire?....maybe he could have fallen on his bayonet.....[rolleyes]

IIRC, this showed up as a fake on snopes, just like the 'Lens-capped Presidential Binoculars"...

The B&W photo removes some depth from the picture (the rifle could be pointing up over his right shoulder (not directly in his face)), and is obviously unloaded.

However, it makes another point. Shouldn't that thing be loaded (since it looks like he's all set to march off with it)???

Take a closer look at the receiver, obscured by the word qualified. No mag. But still, not a smart way to handle it, even if it is empty (I do realise there could still be a round in the chamber).
