Not fake, look 'em up on Wikipedia. During day they perch at the top of a branch or stump and camo themselves as part of the tree.

Is it just me or does that thing look like it was flying and accidentally impaled itself on the part that holds the barbed wire apart.
There should be about 3" more of that thing and it just disappears into it's chest. That would explain why It cant fly off. Looks like it's dieing.
