The Decatur City Council is considering banning city employees from carrying a gun to work. The city tried to pass a similar law twelve years ago, but state law did not allow it then.

Do they have a big problem with city employees shooting people in Decatur?

They'll all vote against it, and then assert that they are pro-gun in the next election.

Some city council members clearly have enough hatred in their hearts that they can imagine themselves shooting someone for the wrong reasons. Therefore, it's clear than NO ONE can control themselves if they are carrying evil death machines.

Please god, let them fuck it up like the NYUNSAFE act and include the city police department in the ban so the world can see how retarded they are!

Ought to be as effective at stopping a shooter and protecting victims as UAH's anti-gun policy was when Amy Bishop flipped out in Huntsville.

Not very many places the working folks are the problem.  They are usually too busy you know, working, to cause issues.

What about that legislation that just got passed that said employers cannot keep employees from having firearms in their cars at work?

ETA: Thought it was about having gun in car. I'm illiterate.

Why would you advertise to the bad guys that your employees are disarmed?

I worked with a Muslim guy from Africa for a couple of years (super smart and great technician). Work transferred him to Memphis last year (he hates it), every time I talk to him he refers to it as "living in Memphrica".

Wrong question. Law does not "allow" any behavior it only limits what you're allowed to do. In the absence of a law that limits where you can carry, you can carry anywhere.
