Without tine lengths, that is about as close as you can accurately get. If you want an educated guess, post a picture. |
Anybody got the worthless without pics meme cause this one is exactly why they made it
Without any tine lengths, it's impossible. I shot a 10 point buck in Kansas a couple of years ago with a 22" spread and heavy, heavy mass that went 155". I have a 14 point buck from the same area with a 19 inch spread and long tines that went 172".

I am trying to figure out how to post the pictures.
It is not going so well. |
Even with photos its only going to be a wild ass guess. Measuring antlers is more complicated than many realize.

Email me the pics. I'll send you an email through the site real quick; I'll host them for you.

Scratch the last.
Put a [img] all down the left side of those links, followed by the same tag, but [/i instead of [i. |

I'd say around 150 gross, 140 net.
Once you actually do some measuring, put the numbers in here for the final result. http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgRecords/bc_scoring_typwhitetail2.asp |

If you don't already have this.

What's the instant ocean for?
Planning to take a bath afterwards? Nice buck by the way. Where in Ohio did you get him? |
Wtf is instant ocean and who drinks coke zero after shooting a nice deer?

That is my official deer hunting shirt. Have worn it for years. I am lucky it was warm out yesterday. If it was cold you would have really made fun of my vintage red Woolrich Buffalo Plaid wool pants and coat. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Roughly 145. Nice buck!
Oh, look it up as it's easy to get close by doing it yourself. You just need a soft ruler like seamstresses use. |
Its just a WAG, but I am going to say 135. Not too much mass, and his tines are short.
140's. The tine length and splits killed ya. Awesome buck though.

I did my best to estimate the measurements on your buck and ran the numbers through this:
http://www.boone-crockett.org/bgRecords/bc_scoring_typmuledeer.asp?area=bgRecords&type=Typical+Mule+Deer+%26+Blacktail It said 112. |

Using the B and C calculator and my best guesses of lengths my best guess is 140 to 150. Not Boone and Crockett worthy but at least it should get me into the Ohio Big Bucks Hall of Fame.
Time to make a lot of Jerky and Smokies as this guy was lean and tough. Free samples when they are done to all that want some. I strongly prefer small does for meat, but I am not going to let a wall hanger go either. |

This is a really crappy cell phone pic of my non-typical 168. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=58695 View Quote That is a nice deer. any way you look at it. The worst part is waiting for the taxidermists. 8 months but I only deal with one guy because I trust him. Last deer I took in to be mounted I had stolen from me. |

The deer took a year, the elk took amost two and a black bear I shot in Alaska took almost 4 years to rug out. He's very good, and slow. With taxidermist you get fast, cheap and quality, but you only get to pick two of the three. |
