Their going to have fun trying to find a place to live. I my state you can't live within 2000 feet of a school if you are on the sex offender list.

so if you're a teen and take nudies of another teen or yourself, and you turn 18 and still possess the same picture, should you now be charged with child pornography?
let's say all the teens turn 18 and they continue to swap the pics when the subjects were underaged among themselves, should they be charged or not? If one of these sexters loses their phone and you're over 18 and pick it up, you're no in possession of child porn. |

To the PDs, that is a good statistic, that they can give to the chief, who can give to the city council, who can brag that "they" arrested and soolved so many crimes. Busting teens for these kinds of violations is a pretty easy job, you don't face any real hostile people, you go home at night what is there not to like?
BTW : this is a lot easier than busting go after drug dealers and real criminals. |

In most states, if you are within a year or two of the age of consent (usually 16 or there abouts) you can have sex with someone else in the same age bracket. The same should apply here.

IMO child porn laws should reflect the age of consent within the state.
Pretty stupid that in some states you can have sex with a 16 and 17 year old but if you have a picture of said individual that is a federal crime. |

Lesson learned. Don't send nudie pics to your boyfriends. Instead have them all over to view the goods live. That's legal, safe, wholesome and an appropriate way to express your budding sexuality.
If a 17 year old couple has nudie pics of each other, throw the book at those dirty child porn collectors and brand them for life but if they bang each other in a 30 way orgy they're not child molesting and that's completely acceptable. Rest easy San Diego. The streets are safe.

The girls started the "web ring" by sending out pictures of themselves? And the guys are being prosecuted? I hope to see a follow up of this. No WAY can they get convicted.

Kids will be kids, but how would some of you "fathers" like to have naked pics of their kids passed around the internet/school/etc without knowing it? I don't see too bad of a problem sharing the pics with their intended recipients, but how about when those pics get passed around like playing cards? I don't think most kids need to suffer the consequences of the stupid laws as written, but I guarantee that some of these kids indeed broke the fucking law and deserve the full weight of it. They knew it and they should suffer. Big boy rules and all that shit. ETA: I agree with a lot of what has been posted, I'm just looking at this from both sides, playing devil's advocate. |
