wow.  i didn't think this would progress this far.  a good sheriff is one that protects the rights of the citizens that elected him, even at the expense of his own rights.  i hope he beats this crap, but given today's attitude toward gun rights, things don't look good...

IIRC- Basically he chose not to pursue felony charges for CCW without a permit against a man whose only actual "crime" was a minor traffic violation.

Half of GD was rabidly supporting his arrest because he "destroyed public records". I'm sure they'll be along shortly to do so again.

The more I read about this case, the more it looks like he's in trouble for tampering with official records to hide what he did, rather than getting upset that he overturned an arrest.
