What s joke.

meh
Fuck Boston ETA: Football games are decided by "bullshit" calls like that every week. |
|
First the Patriots last week now the Red Sox lose on a strange call.
|
|
1. Fuck Boston.
2. Go Cards. 3. Watch the replay. Even without the obstruction, the catcher is not on the plate and does not appear to make a clean tag before the runner touches home plate. 4. QQ moar 5. ??? 6. Profit. |

The butthurt will be strong in this thread.
Karma's a bitch. |

Middlebrooks is a bitch like every Boston douche.
It wasn't a gift. It's the rules being applied to an obvious cunt trying to obstruct. Fuck Boston!! |
|
|
How was it a joke? The catcher threw the ball away when throwing it to third, and the runner would have scored if not tripped by the third baseman.

I Love Boston
We live 56 miles away and our kid is at BU, a dean's list physics major. We visit the city often. We love Boston Crap: I meant to quote watchwatch that friggin twat And I agree on obstruction |

worst call of all time Just because the call would have ended the game, a team should be allowed to break the rules? 3rd baseman wasn't in possession of the ball, wasn't fielding it. His responsibility to get out of the way. Even if his feet weren't intentionally up, it was an obstruction. I at first thought it was a bad call until watching the replay a few times. |

I don't think it was intentional but intent doesn't mater with obstruction. Because raising both of your feet fully into the air, is normally how folks stand up, when face down and prone? Nope. Like the whole damn inbred collectivist region, Middlebrooks is a little bitch, and chose to lay there and obstruct and trip out of frustration. Fuck Boston!!! |

He CLEARLY impeded the runner and it WAS intentional.
When trying to get back up-you don't curl your legs. You execute a push up and pull your legs up under you. Good call umps. Proper call. Good job. |

Had the thrid basemen pushed up as you said, it definitely would have been obstruction. Shit call, especially to end a world series game three. Kinda chickenshit actually, but by all means, continue to revel in your cheap victory. |

Third basmen isnt blocking the bag, he's off to the side. Gets taken out anyway, you know like a second basemen getting obstructed during a double play. It's interference, if hes NOT blocking the bag, he wasnt.
So apparently the runner can take out the third basemen at the ankle while hes off to the side of the bag, trip over the guy he just knocked down and win game three of a world series game. Had he stood up, he would have been called for obstruction. Chickenshit call in the World Series. |

If Bahstan lost it was because they did not hit, you cannot blame the umpires if you only scored 1 run

This call wasn't even hard. The home plate ump was instantly waving and pointing to 3rd. He saw the 3rd base ump making the obstruction sign.
Either there's no obstruction and the runner scores when the ball gets away from 3rd. Or, there's obstruction and the runner advances automatically. And as Buck and McCarver said about 300 times, intention doesn't matter with regards to obstruction. There's no mystery at all in this one. The umps nailed. Lots of butthurt from the Boston Chinstraps, er, Red Sox. |

Middlebrooks isnt obstructing, as he isnt in the baseline between 3rd and 4th. Looking at the tape, hes actually on the ground 3-5 feet inside the baseline, between 2nd and 3rd.
Craig is NOT in the baseline. |
