This was hanging from a web, a web attached to me as I sat under the carport playing the bass this morning / lunchtime.

Can someone identify this thing?

Also, it may be possible that I might need to build a flamethrower soon, because there are several dozens of them around my house, and there are of course, a couple dozen of the nasty reddish looking big spiders too.

Thanks.

The long spikes are the front of it. I know for sure it's a bad ass, because it has a Punisher logo on it's back.

My woods are filled with those.  And they only build their webs across my trails!

I can walk off trail for 500 yards and never touch a web, on my trails there's a web every 10 feet.

Thanks guys. I'm glad it wasn't this one. I would have been on the news for tossing Molotov cocktails in an indiscriminate manner. Oh the one in my photos are only about 3-4mm.

In all honesty, yeah I've seen them all in the woods behind the house, but never paid much attention or noticed their features, as I am usually more focused on the more prevalent threat, which is copperheads and rattlesnakes, which do fill the woods heavily here.

Basically, you look down once for snakes, in front of you once for bears, and behind you twice for Bigfoot.

By the time you see Bigfoot, you're already getting loved tenderly.
