I need a free downloadable sound recorder that will record up to one hour. I will then burn it onto a CD. I had at one point in time Real Producer, but the hard drive crashed. I can't find that program on Real.com any more. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Though it's lame, every version of Windows since v3.1 has come with "Sound Recorder", which will do what you want.

If/when you decide to get *serious* about recording WAVs (meaning if you need lots of control over every aspect, including signal processing, etc.), I highly recommend Sound Forge at [url]www.sonicfoundry.com[/url].

I have recorded many wav's for the purpose of burning to CD with Goldwave. Works just fine.

You can also copy and paste, trim off the beginning and ending dead air, do fade outs, eq, add echo/reverb, and other effects.
