how does that ac even work?  how does it blow air into the room if it's outside and there's no duct or vent leading into the building?

Its a "mini split" setup. Piping leads inside to a second heat exchanger/air handler.

That's only the outside part of the system.

Looking at the building, that dude sure does trust the guys that built it.

I wouldn't want to be above the second floor let alone one something that's suppose to hold the AC unit.
