Our state ICAC center (Internet Crimes Against Children) is world class. They just got an FBI agent on task force with them and are branching out. A few weeks ago a Hungarian ring had hacked into a local bar's debit card reader and was skimming customers data and cash, to the tune of $85,000 total. With the Fed guy onboard (a real computer whiz) they traced it and are extraditing 5 guys back here for trial. I always get creeped out going in there though, even though with current software, they don't have to view the actual images. |
