Anyone done this?

I have a couple laying around and will sacrifice one to make a makeshift rifle tripod.

Just need ideas.

Yes. There are even devices to couple the rifle to them. Look up hog saddle. Ive also made one out of a 3" pvc coupler sawed in half and mated to a qd plate. Cover the pvc with duct tape or something to provide a slight cusion and less slippery and its done.

Can get wet and allows great pov footage.....in 1080

Larue makes an attachment to couple a tripod to a rail. I recomend manfroto.
It has it's applications, but it's not as stable as you would think. Get one of those telescoping walking stick things to support the butt of the gun.
