So what are you going to tell her when she asks "Daddyyyy, whyyyy?"
"Sorry sweetie, some weirdos dress up like ponies and jack each other off" By your logic, I shouldn't like women, because some queers dress up as women and strut around town. There's nothing wrong with the show. There is everything wrong with some people. You have to understand "Rule 34" of the internet. "If it exists, there is porn of it" You can't let the weirdos ruin the world for you. |

Sorry, but I haven't see grown men post about dressing up as a transtestical bugs bunny kissing men. But I have seen plenty of posts here about guys having bizarre fetishes for a product meant to delight the imagination of pre-pubescent girls.

Your child shouldn't be watching TV anyway. TV fills their head with all sorts of crap. Make her play more, read to her, or start helping her learn to read.
By the way, in those old fashioned Donald Duck cartoons, how many times were they sticking stuff up his butt or spanking? Fucking pervert cartoon makers. |

I am not a huge fan of the show myself. I watched it with my ex and more or less have always enjoyed the memes that came from it. The main reason I argue so much about it is because ignorance in general bothers me. These kinds of blanket statements are the exact same types you probably get upset with liberals and other such groups making against gun owners. As far as who the show is intended for, you are a bit off your mark with that one. The people you post pictures of and lament on are a minority within the "brony" community. Just as assholes who shoot up schools or movie theaters are a minority within the gun community. Every time one of these threads pops up it is always by someone who has not a single inkling about the show or the memes origins to begin with. As far as your bugs bunny suit remark, do not test me. I have been a /b/tard for many years and could dig up some horrifying Looney Toons cosplay that is not CC friendly. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Of course none of what I said matters. This is the internet and people are stuck in their ways. https://i.chzbgr.com/maxW500/6069577216/h013730FB/ I am a big fan of Looney Tunes though! As far as who the show is intended for, you are a bit off your mark with that one. The appreciation of the show by an older audience came as a surprise to Hasbro, Faust, and others involved with the show, but they have embraced the older fans while staying focused on the show's intended audience. Such reciprocity has included participation in fan conventions by the show's voice actors and producers, recognition of the brony fandom in official promotional material, and incorporating background characters popularized by the fans, such as the fandom-named "Derpy Hooves", into in-jokes within the show. As a result of these efforts in part, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has become a major commercial success with the series becoming the highest rated original production in The Hub's broadcast history. Let her go ahead and watch, and hope she gets the pony phase out of her system before she's old enough to want a real horse. OTOH, it just might not work. Then you're in for some serious nagging and really serious bucks if you give in.
Nothing wrong with MLP. My wife used to babysit a friend's young daughter, so I received MLP via osmosis. It's wholesome entertainment, far more so than most of what's offered as children's fare these days. I will say the animation for Gen. 4 is a comedown from the earlier versions. |

It's a great cartoon for her age.
I watch a few episodes of whatever the kids want to watch, to see if it adds anything, or if it's just 30 minutes of peace for me. MLP is about the best thing going; and I've indirectly seen every episode on Netflix...... maybe twice. Each character has individual traits that are sometimes taken too far. (it's part of the show's teaching element) When I catch my girl displaying a trait to excess; I'll tell her to "calm down Pinkie Pie", or "Come on Rarity, you can get cleaned up at the end of the day". It's a nice tool in the box, for developing a well rounded child. |

Other than feeding and clothing your kids, perhaps the best thing a parent could do for their emotional and psychological well-being is to GET RID OF THE FUCKING TELEVISION.

MY three year old watches it and I've seen quite a few episodes that were on while I was getting ready for work or whatnot. As far as children's entertainment goes, it's a good show. Most of the cartoons nowadays I swear are written by people who seem to WANT to turn kids into ADHD addled sociopaths. At least the pony writers seem to want teach kids how to be decent human beings.

My GF's daughters have been watching Winx Club lately. That show's like a soap opera with fairies. Seriously, it's Guiding Magic Light or All My Fairies. I'd rather they watched MLP, honestly.
