What do you guys think?  I'm afraid we will do nothing.  At the same time I'm not sure what we should do yet.  Any thoughts?

This "news" that north korea has nukes and more disturbing; delivery systems is old news.
The north koreans have had nukes and were developing delivery systems before during and after the clinton administration's bribery fiasco's. Coming into office with the end of the cold war this threat was at the top for the clinton administrations "nightmare scenario", if the north attacked the south or japan, the United States would have to do something "BIG" and slick willy did not want to do anything "BIG", so he and gore decided that paying off the north koreans and creating a half assed agreement/treaty would by them time, and it did! The clinton administration did not have to deal with the north korean problem and the north koreans were left unmolested to continue there weapons of mass destruction programs, ironically with the help of U.S. money used to bribe them.

The north koreans have not only nukes but also biological and chemical weapons and as we know they also have the delivery systems and they will be developing more advanced delivery systems in the future.

What can be done about north korean? Nothing! Unless you want to go nuclear or fight a brutal bloody savage ground campaign in the inhospitable korean peninsula. The can is opened and the worms are everywhere it is to late for north korea, they will become more powerful and dangerous from here on out. Sanctions or diplomacy will not work because kim and his commie wackos do not know or care about those things, they are the most isolated maniacal society on earth and maybe in the history of the world.

They are coming out now because their shake down of the United States is exhausted and they no longer need to pretend any more, and they can start saber rattling once again.

The north koreans have played their cards brilliantly.

Well, all the Bush-haters are in a frenzy because they think it's somehow ridiculous that we're attacking Iraq over their nuclear program, while we're doing nothing about NK.  Then they take the dumbness to a new level by saying "See?!?!  It really is about oil!!"

Bush critics also say that we shouldn't be mad at NK for violating the NPT (nuclear proliferation treaty) it signed onto in the 80's, since we refused to sign the Kyoto treaty and backed out of the ABM (which we exited from without Putin caring much).

However, we confronted NK about its nuclear program in 1994, and the US became belligerent about NK's violation.  Who went over on his own initiative to have a parley with the poor misunderstoof NK's?  Jimmy Carter.  Really pissed off Clinton with his intereference, but Carter, who never met a tyrant he didn't like, got new assurances that NK's nuclear program was 100% peaceful....never mind they were developing ICBM's as well.  A little talking and diplomacy, and look what we get.  Peace in our time.

Now we see that peaceful negotiations with tyrants is a waste of time.  They completely fooled naive Jimmy Carter, Clinton took the phony credit of a foreign policy victory, and they leave Bush holding the bag for their weak-wristed negotiations.

Now they're chastising Bush for taking a different route with Saddam, even though the uselessness of the diplomatic approach with Iraqis has been shown over and over again. Still we have harping from the peanut gallery that we should take the old, failed routes because war is just so awful and never justified under any circumstances.

Lets take out north korea too. I have no problem being the worlds police force.

We do the same thing we are doing to Iraq.

IN THIS ORDER....

1. Announce that we are going to start a war with them, but then wait forever to actually do anything...screwing the economy in the process.

2. Bend-over, grab ankles and try to please the United Nations.

3. Switch positions and try to penetrate said anus of United Nations, then deal with all the socialist bastard lefties in this country.

4. Take another 6 months to be really nice to them and see if we can "check out" there stuff to ascertain if it is really a threat.

5. Go back to Step #1, repeat until the Third World assholes use the WMD or sell it to someone who uses it against us.

We deal with iraq,then we'll turn around and blow our little particular brand of sunshine up N.Koreas ass.

That is one fucked up country.I watched a 60 minutes where they interviewed the N.Korean leader(you know the all powerfull dictator that preferres to wear liesure suits and an asian afro).They took a drive threw the center of Pyong Yang?(NK capitol),it was a helluva sight.A large 6 lane wide avenue with an endless line of 15-20 story,concrete appartment buildings.

Not a soul in sight.I mean not one person walking or riding a bike on the sidewalk.Not another car on the road.Just the 2 cars containing the news crew,leader and entourage.This went on for block upon block(it was daytime).It was an absolute ghostown.Although I'm sure a million or so people probably reside there.

Talk about absolute power.

Another problem is that the leader of S.Korea has staked his political future on a naive "sunshine" policy,where the S.Koreans and the US are supposed too bend over ,pull down their panties and spread their cheeks for the N.Korean government at every oportunity.

Hmm... Is there any way we could provoke a war between NK and Red China? Possibly a nuclear war? A really big one that would destroy one and cripple the other would be nice. I've always been a fan of getting someone else to do your dirty work.

Or mabye they would calm down if we parked a few Ballistic Missle subs a hundred miles from their shore. I wonder how long it takes a sea-launched ICBM to travel about 200 miles or so...
