I used to watch ER from time to time.  I enjoyed parts of it.

However, tonights episode, which gives the viewer the impression that gun owners are nuts and addicted to pain killers, puts the nails in the coffin.

Looks like Thursday nights from 9 to 10 is ar15.com time.

Nothing new.  ER almost yearly produces an anti-gun episode.  I stopped watching a couple of seasons back because of one.

What do you expect? DOCTORS in CHICAGO. Do you REALLY think they would tolerate all those evil guns *gasp*. [thinking]  [stick]

I just got done watching tonights episode as well. I've watched ER quite a bit over the years and while it's obvious the show is very anti gun, it's still amusing to watch.. There was even a doctor a few seasons ago (can't remember her name) she enjoyed guns and knew quite a bit about them. Of course the others looked at her like she was an alien or something and before too long she was booted, but fuck 'em, [frag]  she was cool.

The only episode that really pissed me off, is the one where that messed up dude was going around the city shooting everybody.. and finally some good citizen that was illegally carrying shot the guy and stopped him.. just about everyone still thought the guy was evil as satan himself for shooting the BG..    [soapbox]

Hey, South Park has been on for the first half of it lately.  Sure, they're repeats, but still better than anything else on.

Anyone catch "Law&Order" last night? A teacher got offed, and one of the other teachers said something like "You can't even feel safe in class, knowing one of the students might shoot you."

The cop replied "Actually, your colleague was STABBED..."

That actress left ER and went on to star on CSI.  I like CSI much better than ER.

My gripe is that first Sopranos goes with that fagget vibrator in the ass episode, now NETWORK tv pulls this shit and gets even MORE graphic with it by showing the purple vibrator later?

That was the last episode of ER I saw. Quit watching after that... but if I remember correctly, the cops didn't think the guy was "evil", neither did ALL the doctors. Just the two young ones (Carter & Chen) treating the wounded citizen who offed the bad guy. The "messed up dude" was looking for Dr Greene's wife and infant daughter, and had broken into their house (they weren't home) and Dr Greene had the "messed up dude" in an elevator (alone), taking him up to OR, when the dude "coded", and Greene just let him croak. Didn't that make him an "accomplice" to the citizen who shot him?

I know that not everyone hated the guy for it, I guess my blood pressure had risen too much at that point to remember who actually appreciated what the citizen did. [;)]

(rant on) I normally do not watch ER after I boycotted the show after the famous season finale where the guy went on a shooting spree after Dr. Greenes wife.   I watched the show for the first time since, due to my mother wished to see it.   Dr Carter can go off on a spill about guns and knives being bad,  and then hold a whole ER ward hostage to get what he wants.  Does this not make him the same as the guy who used a gun to get his drugs.  ER is a large liberal socialistic show.  I has repeatedly disgusts me.   With shows of this nature no wonder the public does not have an accurate view of the gun issues. (rant off)

I watch CSI from 9-10 est on Thursdays.  I don't get too much of a anti-gun vibe from it.  ER has always been antigun, I refuse to watch that crap.

Nope. Greene was not an accomplise, because the citizen acted in self-defense to save his life, and the lives of others. GREENE WAS A MURDERER!!!!!

Speaking of Greene, how did they remove his character from the show? I saw the season premiere tonight, and Lizzy is in England, trying to sell the house....

'Jurassic Park,' 'ER' creator robbed at gunpoint in his home

Associated Press

Published Sep 26, 2002CRIC27

SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- Author Michael Crichton was robbed at gunpoint and
tied up by two men who ransacked his home, but he wasn't harmed, his
publicist said.
The author of ``Jurassic Park'' and creator of the television series
``ER'' was robbed shortly before 5 a.m. Monday. Police wouldn't confirm
that Crichton was the victim but said the crime was committed at a home
believed to be owned by the author.
``An incident did occur, but everybody is fine, and that's all I can say
because a kid is involved,'' publicist Joseph Marich told the Santa Monica
Daily Press. Crichton, 59, has a daughter in her early teens.
Police said some items were taken from the house but the value was not
immediately determined.
Since his 1971 novel, ``The Andromeda Strain,'' was made into a movie,
Crichton has enjoyed a string of literary and Hollywood successes.
More than a dozen of his novels and original screenplays have been turned
into feature films, including ``Twister,'' ``Disclosure'' and ``West
World.'' The 1969 graduate of Harvard Medical School is also the creator
of TV's long-running series ``ER.''
Earlier this month, Crichton's wife filed for divorce to end their 13-year
marriage. Anne Marie Martin Crichton and her husband have lived apart
since August 2001, when they moved from New York to Santa Monica, court
documents show.

I hate to say it but I'd find a TV show about pro-gun doctors in an ER in a MAJOR liberal city like Chicago laughable and highly unrealistic.

Just because you've got a PhD in medicine doesnt mean your necessairly the most well rounded person in the world.

I've got an older bro who is an ER doctor in his third year south of DC. He doesnt own but he's not an anti. He does say however the majority of the medial staff are OVERWHELMINGLY Anti-gun.

So there's a shooting in an ER and a buncha quack liberal actors playing MDs make some anti comments- I dont think it makes the show unwatchable OR unrealistic. The whole gloom and doom mentality of a very loud minority of folks on AR15.com is the same way. Yes, its reality, but I'm so SICK of hearing about how its all over and its too late and we cant do anything about our little journey to hell in a handbasket here in this country/on this planet.
