I'm going to make some chili tonight or tomorrow.  What kind of healthy bread/chips/carbs should I serve with it?

I believe cornbread is what you're looking for

Cornbread is healthy, it has corn in it...

Honestly, Some wheat bread goes pretty well with it, all things considered.

You could get some whole-wheat flour tortillas (or some of those multi-grain wraps that hipsters use to ruin the good name of sandwiches) and make chili burritos/rolls.

What isn't healthy about bread?  Man made it this far with little more than bread numerous times.

Cornbreads pretty good. I don't have a good whole wheat bread recipe but here's my cornbread recipe.

Mix:
½ cup white flour
1 ¾ cup corn meal
¼ cup sugar
¾ teaspoon salt
2 ½ teaspoon baking powder
6 Tablespoon butter
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs

Heat oven to 400 degrees.  Melt 2 T butter in an iron skillet.
Pour batter over butter and bake for 22 – 27  min.

You can make this with oil – it is healthier but not as good.  You can decrease the oil/butter to 4 T but again, it is not as good.

You laugh but I had brownies that were made with beans and they tasted pretty good.  I couldn't even tell they were made from beans.

Real Chili or that beanless kind?

The beanless kind get served between a hamburger bun.

The real kind (w/ beans) gets served with jalapeno corn bread.

If you need a spoon for your chili, you did it wrong.

And saltine crackers FTW

Bread is not healthy.  No matter what its made of.  GM wheat is poison, and GM corn is worse.  Good luck finding either that is not GM.

Yup - topped with pico and some cheese. Bread is just filler on the side. <shrug>

Sweet potatoes.

Those dehydrated veggie chips.

You could try to bake bread with coconut flour.

I recently had squash on the side with my chili, it was pretty good.

Although this is probably a lost cause, the correct word is "healthful", not "healthy". Eating a healthful bread would make one healthy.

I'm concerned about OP.

Chilli needs nothing but cheese or onions or both. I like to chop up some habaneros and toss in on top.

Healthy bread is bread that isn't sick.

If you're going to go there, petition for the correct use of the apostrophe first.

hehe....I just made Frybread + Chili this weekend. I can tell ya that's the entire polar opposite of healthy. It's like chili on top of fair food.

It fucking rocked tho. I only splurge once and a while, but it was worth it.
