I'm sure Obama cares more about the gun control issue than Americans being taken hostage.

Energy issues, a failing economy, high unemployment, shitty relations in the middle east.
All we needed was a war involving a former French colony to cover the entire 1970s. |

Hopefully nothing will happen to those hostages but it will be the new news media focus.

Curious, there are a several other highly-skilled "operator" groups out there, specifically Delta, DevGru (I know they are SEALs but they are different), and even SOG/SAD...so why is it normal SEAL units seem to be the ones leading hostage missions?

I suspect the French will take care of it. Sucks for the hostages though. Likely few if any will survive.

Panetta: "I do know that terrorists are terrorists and terrorists take these kinds of actions," he added, "We've witnessed their behavior in a number of occasions where they have total disregard for innocent men and women. This appears to be that kind of situation."

I have a bad feeling that this is gonna be a "Moscow theater hostage crisis" scenario.
Lots of hostages are going to die |
