CNN reporting that someone turned in two rocket launchers at an L.A. gun buy back program. It is sad to think how many people will see this and  truly believe that this has happened and that there are military weapons all over the streets and in the hands of any nut job that would want them. I for one am not buying this, that must have been a really nice ass gift card for someone to give up rocket launchers and 75 "assault weapons." I suspect that the LLE just opens up the cache of confiscated weapons that they have and do a quick photo shoot with the media in hopes that it will motivate people to actually turn some in. CNN did mention that most of the weapons turned in were antiques and some were not functional..... unreal.

So... somebody turned in two empty LAW tubes then? The kind you see sitting on gun show collectible tables?

If I still had the LAW tube I was dragging around everywhere from age 6 to 11 I'd think about turning it in for the extra bucks, too!

(Actually, I wouldn't just because of the derp that would radiate off the local news in about 3 seconds flat)

Shit.....when we played "army" as kids, we used a LAW tube to launch bottle rockets...........If PT Barnum was alive today, he'd be richer than Bill Gates......

This.
I don't blame anyone turning in all the 25 autos and $75 single shot shotguns they can for $200 each, but the media/gov will make this rocket launcher thing into this big production to gain support for their political agendas.

Now I kind of want to go buy some PVC pipe, spray paint it green and stencil the words ROKIT LANCHER on the side and see what they give me. If they doubt my powers I can have a roman candle taped inside just in case.

Spent launch tube, probably a LAW or AT-4.
