I saw it when it came out. . . was young. . the scene where he collapes in the street, and she never turned around BLEW ME AWAY. . and we didn't even know what "Blew me away" meant then. . . Was it released in 1965? I would have been 9 then. . .
One of my all time favorite films. . shows the de-humanizing reality of Soviet Communism. . a bit of history of that era. . . way cool steam train scenes on the Russian steppe. . a stunningly beautfiul Julie Christie, who I then had a huge crush on––-well as much of a crush as a nine-year old boy could have. . . great Maurice Jarre soundtrack. . . and all told in a sweeping way that made you feel that all that time HAD past––from 1917 until the fifties. . . and then that scene. . .was it her? . . Awesome film. .
"I AM THE ONLY FREE MAN ON THIS TRAIN!"––-Klaus Kinski as the political prisoner on the refugee train. . . great film. . .
