Remember back when the Presidential election fiasco was going on? How can we forget right? Well, I was listening to the news and what not and when the topic came up about the 2nd Amendment or guns in general came up, I sat there and said "Hey wait, thats not true" or "those stats are not right" yet the sheeple are eating these lies from the network left and right.

Happened again. One news show reported on a refrigerator that is VERY expensive yet breaks down CONSTANTLY. I happen to work on this brand and find it superior to ANY refrigerator on the market. Company even covers stuff out of warranty just to keep the customer happy. One lady even had a 20 year old model that was 15 years out of her compressor warranty and they STILL COVERED IT!!!!

Come to find out that the TV network is owned by non other than... G.E.  This manufacturers BIGGEST competitor.

I have had 4 customers tell me about the show and its like I had to backpeddle and defend the manufacturer unnecessarily.

The lesson I learned is NEVER EVER trust the media....NEVER! If you want the facts on a certain item or product, to HELL with "Consumer Reports" I have a long laundry list with them as well, and to hell with the "Consumer watchdog shows" ... its ALL skewed!

Anyone else here have a story that they saw on tv and said "What Bullsh*t!!" They are LYING!!!"

Per Consumer Reports GE is the number one failure prone brand requiring the most amount of repairs.

"What I know"

During the Clinton Administration of the military we saw budgets cut so deeply while actually expanding the number of mission requirements that things suffered badly.

- We cut the number of inspections - if you don't look you don't see the problems!

- We didn't have repair parts so jobs were delayed between fiscal quarters or just put off completely.

- Ordinance was transferred between one ship and another. We've always done that with "special" weapons and some of the higher tech missiles but we were doing this with everything. The ships were empty sitting on the piers rather than nearly ready to go.

- Saw them spend half a billion dollars to upgrade a cruiser with the New Threat Upgrade weapons/sensor package, replace the nuclear core only to have the thing scrapped when the job was 99% completed.

- We were allowed to cannibalize parts from one system to repair another which was never authorized before. We'd beg parts from another ship only to return them when we returned to port.

- Anything worth having one of is worth having two of so there is always two radars for each mission. Typically only one of the two was working because we didn't have the money to replace identified broken components.

- The time between overhaul periods was expanded saving money in the short run but putting much more damage on the equipment to be paid for in big buck later.

- Liberty calls were canceled because the money wasn't there to pay for port services so crews went months between liberty ports. This behavior makes many get out of the Navy rather than re-enlist and keep their skills, experience and training benefiting the service.

And all this time from the President and media we heard the same thing. “Reasonable” cuts in defense spending bringing thing back into line with where they should be. Calls of a “hollow force” from senior military officers were pooh-poohed all along the number of military members was being slashed while expanding civilian jobs in such vital roles as environmental protection and civil rights.
