After screwing around for the better part of my life (but managing to get sergeant's stripes, a degree in gunsmithing, and some work for one of the most reputable rifle companies in the country) I decided to go back to school and get a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational and Technical Studies (don't ask).
Aside from being a full-time student I work for a college keeping track of all the spoiled brats that get sent here for some express parenting before they flunk out and go somewhere else.
I shouldn't knock it, it allowed me to build my AR. [^]

Unfortunately, I'd be much happier FIXING things, rather than telling a field engineer HOW to fix it, so I'm pretty restless and miserable.  It pays the bills, though, so I don't complain (much).

I'm a corporate aviation maintenance technician. I've always been interested in railroading and should have gone into it when I was younger. I envy you guys! Trains are way cool! I'm to set in my ways now to put up with 15 years of on call duty (not to mention start pay) or I'd jump ship and start over. To think I could have 18 years with a railroad and be in my mid 30's. Oh, what could have been... My 7 year old son and I are big railfans/model railroaders though.
