I've never had a reason to hide the taste of meat under a pile of "spices".  Salt, pepper, open flame.

That didn't take long. You Neanderthals ever think that some people actually like a little more seasoning than salt and pepper?

Chopped fresh garlic and rosemary seem to keep showing up with the salt and pepper.

If I use anything other than salt and pepper its TEXJOY steak seasoning. Chances are you fucks can't get any, and I like it that way.

people like this always make me chuckle.  if you're such a purist, why are you ruining the flavor of the meat with those pesky maillard reactions?

IOW...

And that's why it is a waste of money.

ETA: There is nothing wrong with using seasoning blends, but they use salt/pepper as a filler. You want to be able to control the salt.

I need to get and try some of the mansmiths seasonings.

Depending on what it is, I usually go with quality kosher salt and fresh pepper, or I make my own rubs.

But sometimes perfeciton has already been bottled...

Here are a few of my go-to's for certain things.  I also mix some of this in to other creations sometimes.
