The largest wildfire burning in Arizona was started during a bachelor party when one shotgun-toting celebrant fired a shell that promises to shoot “100 feet of fire, setting everything in its path ablaze,”...

A warning on the Fiocchi 12 gauge round’s packaging made its danger clear: “Shoots 100 feet of fire, setting everything in its path ablaze. Warning: Extreme FIRE HAZARD.”

Deserves everything he gets.

So, is this Shiflet character on the hook for all costs?  Uncle Sam put a lien on wages for the rest of his life or does he do time?  Both?  I must admit to not followng this fire, has anyone been killed as a result?  Knowing they have the ass that started it, I'll follow the story now to see how this plays out.

Yep...if they are willing to walk guns to Mexico to ban the 2A...this will be right up their alley

And how many fires have cigarettes caused?  Guess that's why they are illegal now, too.

This is why so many laws exist - because of the lowest common denominator.

This is also why we can't have nice things.

Maybe not new gun control measures but increased restrictions on any type of incendiary or tracer ammo may be forthcoming.

Utah blames their fires on shooters every single year.

I hear that they are blaming the Colorado fires on gun fire as well.

They also blamed the ones in Texas last year on shooting.

I am noticing a trend here.

I've never started a fire when shooting anything but tracer. And since I've only shot it when snowy & wet with a fire extinguisher on hand.

Mandatory suppressors should prevent most of these type of fires, there should be a law!

Pretty much, it's a culture war and they're wanting to turn public opinion against guns. What the media leaves out is that current policies are to stamp out all wild fires, which builds up more and more fuel for a really big calamity when it inevitably does catch fire. If the authorities allowed controlled burns, there would not be so much fuel.

Oy....

On one hand, if it's true, then that guy is a fucking dipshit.

On the other hand...Should we really trust anything the Federal government says about firearms, now that they want to say so little about their own retarded arms trafficking program?

This was not just normal shooting, the guy used a fucking INCENDIARY ROUND

~A warning on the Fiocchi 12 gauge round’s packaging made its danger
clear: "Shoots 100 feet of fire, setting everything in its path ablaze.
Warning: Extreme FIRE HAZARD.”

You better believe it will be used as fuels against gun rights and shooting, everything true or false that can be, will be.

ETA- I have nothing against incendiary rounds and do not support any ban. But the area here is very dry, in a 19? year drought.... wrong place, wrong time to be thinking about playing with fire.

One with tracer, one with propane, one with regular bullets on magnesium brake parts.

A couple of years ago an out of work volunteer firefighter started the last huge Az fire on purpose so he'd have work. I think he's still in prison. Of course it was made worse when it joined with another fire.  That one was started when a newschopper covering the first one rescued a lost hiker andspread the coals from his signal fire everywhere
