USA Today is taking a vote on whether the words "Under God" should be removed from the pledge of allegiance.

Now, I don't know if there are any strong opinions about God-n-Country here on AR15.com, [:P] but if you have an opinion, you can vote by going to the following website:

Well, it looks over 90% of the 345,000+ votes say NO to removing it. I'd say that's pretty convincing......

( I doubt if you could get 90% agreement if the question was "Is the sky blue?"  I'm glad to see that so many agree on this. )

Nope, Stormbringer, but only because I know which way you'd vote!

It has nothing to do with you being Canadian![:D]

I have serious color blindness, so the sky seems grey to me all the time.

WTF is "blue"?

I've stayed out of this discussion about the pledge so far,  but I guess I'm probably part of the smallest minority on this issue---I DON'T CARE.

As a believer in the Almighty, I have absolutely no problem with the Pledge having "under God" in it.  On the other hand, as someone old enough to have learned the Pledge years before the words were added, I have no problem if they are not in it.

The Pledge is, after all, a swearing of loyalty to our country.  I don't see it as a religious expression, nor do I feel that I am praying when I do recite it.  If the majority of our citizens want the added phrase in there, however, that's just fine with me.

What does piss me of royally, however, are the motives of the man who brought this suit, and his absolute sliminess, in saying he was trying to "protect" a daughter who we now find out has abolutely no problem with the Pledge as it has been.

Am I the only one here who is OK with the Pledge either way?[:D]

I DID almost buy a purple Bushmaster and not even notice it. I had a buddy with the second time, and he said "You know that it's purple, right?" Doh!

Wanted a blue Blazer, and the wrong color came in (gold/pewter color). Didn't notice until I got home and the fiance said "You know that it's grey, right?" Doh again!

Ever try to dress yourself and not be able to tell what color is what? Now THAT is fun!

I often hear "You know that doesn't match, right?"
