So, I finally righted a wrong; I finally sold my Durango R/T and got another Wrangler. I had one years ago (a 92 or 93, I forget which)...and I never should have gotten rid of it. I finally got another one.

I loved the Durango and all, but it was costing me over $100/week to fill it with gas. I sure am gonna miss those heated seats and the steering wheel-mounted radio controls, tho...

Anyway, so now that I finally got another Jeep...What performance mods/parts are out there for it? It's got the 4.0L six in it with an automatic. Where I drive offroad and such, the manual is *far* too much a pain in the ass ot deal with...the automatic works just fine for what I do.

Are there performance chips made for it? I know there's gotta be a couple good exhaust kits out there (hopefully one that's dual-pipe..)?

Anyone into these things and know of a good place to start researching and looking up products?

Maybe you should have waited for the Rubicon. It's a Wrangler that is ready for the trail right from the showroom floor. Lockers, heavy duty axles, 31" tires, etc all standard.

I don't mean specifically off-road tuning...The amount of off-roading I do is easily handled by any normal wrangler's stock setup (not so much the SE, but the Sahara certainly will do the job)...no, I mean other engine performance mods, i.e. 0-60 before next week, etc. It seems a bit slower than my older Wrangler...definitly slower to 40, anyway. Its not like I want to drag-race the thing, but pulling onto the highway, it'd be nice to know I can get up to speed before a semi creams me.

There's a company called (I think) CA Custom Products. Way cool stuff. Lots of chip parts, headers, etc. for normal up-grading. Look in the Jeep rags for their ads. Catalogs are free!
