So, I'm goin on a hunt next weekend... got a nice vest with lotsa pockets and stuff, but I wanted something more, without having to carry a whole freakin backpack.  What I'm looking for is something like a large fanny pack with shoulder straps.  I've checked some photographic equipment/camera case sites, but can't find anything.  Anyone got any ideas?  Websites needed!

Looks like you live in Austin by your email address so I hope this helps. Go check out REI on N. Lamar or Whole Earth Provision in that big shopping center at S. Lamar and Ben White. I forget the name of the place, don't live in Austin anymore.

These stores are chock full of hiking and backpacking gear. That will let you actually touch and play with whatever you find. The folks there should be people who can hook you up with what you need. Most of the employees and customers will probably be of the left leaning type so be sure to wear your best politically incorrect t-shirt.
