Was browsing Shotgun News. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about these rifles?

Don't know anything about them, but if you're gonna get one, do it the right way...

There is no substitute for Springfield Armory

Got a website for MK Spec? What about the M1A's Fulton Armory makes? I'm craving for an M1A

They're located on Long Island, I'll have to do some recon.

Isn't this the same MKS at the center of the rewelded M14 receiver controversy? I've heard about some unpleasantness concerning their newly manufactured receivers, too (quality is supposed to be good, but their business practices are being scrutinized).

Fulton Armory builds an M1A on a receiver supplied by you.  And they ain't cheap. They recommend Springfield receivers.  Does Springfield sell receivers separately?

M1A is a Springfield Armory trademark. These are called M14's. Jim_Dandy is correct, this is the same MKS who put out the re-welded M14 receivers, which of course got confiscated because of the 1968 GCA ruling of "once a machine gun, always a machine gun".
The thing that concerns me is the "op rod stabilizer" that is required. I carried M14's in Army ROTC in college, I damn sure don't remember any stabilizer. And one of the early one's I saw on FalFiles a month or so ago had what appeared to be Chinese parts. (bolt and other parts not marked)
