Who do we know from chicago? Partial text: CHICAGO (CBS) — A former Chicago alderman turned political science professor/corruption fighter has found that Chicago is the most corrupt city in the country. He cites data from the U.S. Department of Justice to prove his case. And, he says, Illinois is third-most corrupt state in the country. University of Illinois professor Dick Simpson estimates the cost of corruption at $500 million. |

Water called "wettest substance found in abundance on the Earth".

worse than detroit huh? that took some doing. congrats Chicago.
Simpson says Hong Kong and Sydney were two similarly corrupt cities that managed to change their ways. He says Chicago can too, but it will take decades.
Or two weeks, max, if they line up a few and shoot 'em. A powerful RESET! for your value system. |
I bet # 1 and 2 are also run by democraps as well. Seems to be a common denominator huh?
Chicago has been corrupt since , before it burnt down in 1871.
Probably not so much since whats-his-name went to Washington.

The article doesn't say which two states are above Illinois, though.
One of the most consistent predictors of corruption is a one-party system, and viable and real political opposition is highly correlated with decreased corruption, FWIW. Chicago has been a one party city since 1931. The 1995 "no party" law essentially solidified that corruption for perpetuity. |

I picture Rahm sitting in his office like Tony Soprano, with his underlings bringing him envelopes of money.

The fact someone would give up the Chief of Staff position at the White House to become Mayor of that city should tell you everything about the level of power that position wields.

So it's no longer a conspiracy theory? We have hard scientific proof now?

Quoted: I don't disagree, just guessint the the two most corrupt are Dem controlled. New Orleans and Detroit would be my picks.Quoted: I bet # 1 and 2 are also run by democraps as well. The only real corruption challenge in anyone's lifetime today came under Washington - and that was because he represented a large primarily black constituency that challenged the establishment machine from within the Democratic party. |

Doesn't surprise me, I grew up there. I am amazed that California gets more criticism on this board than Illinois.
LOL at one of the comments:
What do you call a wrought iron fence around a Cook County graveyard? A diabolical attempt by Republicans to suppress the Democratic vote. |
You get the government that you make a choice for. Apathy and entitlement breeds corruption and vermin. Chicago make unwise choices. Now they wallow in it.

Al Capone would be proud. Chicago still has the same government that was in place during Capon'e trial. There has not been a political shake-up since. That is an impressive grip. |

I am surprised and shocked, I tell you, surprised and shocked.

Chicago government? New Orleans, if not the entire state of LA, has them beat.
Chicago and the nation are now one and the same, so the the comparison is invalid.

Chicago government? New Orleans, if not the entire state of LA, has them beat. Who was it, Huey Long (or something like that), that was so famous for his corruption? |
