This is the belt buckle I've been wearing since 1973.
I've gone through dozens of airports (international), & courthouses with the them. It does set the detectors off sometimes, when they grab the hand held wand (as I "check around for more change"), & zero in on the buckle - I lift up my shirt, & 95% of the time the operator says "OH - it's just your belt buckle, that happens sometimes - go ahead."
Two, or three times a guard has asked me to remove the belt, & put it in the tray - I do, & not one has ever recognized it for what it is..... so far.
I can't explain how useful the things are, at first you keep forgetting that you've got a knife on you. I've used the hell out of this thing (I must have opened a thousand cans with it, while hunting), I don't think you can wear them out!
Anyway, it's a great little company, about 5 years ago I accidentally dropped the original one about 30 feet onto a ceramic floor. After I found out they were still in business I sent it back, & instead of a bill - they returned it with an apology! Said they made them out of 465 R SS at first, & they were a little too brittle (they're made of 440 now).
Not a lot of people seem to know about them (guess that's why I've lucked out so long), or dismiss them as useless if they do see one.
They're like microwaves though, you don't know how much you rely on them until you manage loose, or break one.
I don't know about the legality, & I don't care (They're made to be used as a "thrust dagger").
