Actually, this sounds like they just harvested the bacteria and synthesized it into some sort of meat substitute. Not a whole lot different from the way plants take the nutrients from manure and turn them into plant matter, the bacteria have taken the nutrients in the sewage and turned it into 'animal' matter. I'd try some (one? Not sure how one delineates meat that can basically be made in sheets). You scoff, you say 'eeeew', but this is the beginning of food generators for long term space projects.
