I have a single barrel break action 12 gauge that I can't find any use for, I may cut it down to minimum length and use it as a flare launcher. Any thoughts on this or any other ideas on how to use it, I don't really care about it and it's only worth maybe $100 or so, but it works.

Bird bombs that sounds cool. What the hell else can I put thru the shitty shotty. I have a gun for almost any purpose so far but the 12 has got some weird options.

WP or GTFO.

I did google that, but most of the retards out there have absolutely no imagination or real firearm related knowledge. Including me on this particular topic:) Google is great for bad gun info.

It should work. I think flares are fired at much lower pressures then standard rounds, so the barrel probably won't burst.  With a single shot break open be careful about overall length not just barrel length.  26" minimum overall is the limit, but unless you severely shorten the stock it should be over that length.

Can a civilian even get ahold of white phosphorous?  That's some pretty caustic shit.

No choke, old smooth bore that will be cut down to 18" just for giggles.

Actually, acidic. Phosphorous oxidizes to the penta-oxide which hydrolyzes to phosphoric acid

P2O5 + 3(H2O)  = 2(H3PO4)

That white smoke from willie pete is phosphoric acid vapor

This, Don't shoot one with a full choke.  I may know someone who ruined a Benelli Nova barrel doing that.

I have a NEF Pardger 12 GA I cut to 18" and finished with alumahyde. I also sanded and refinished the wood to a less "sporty" sheen.

Now I have a 12 GA that hurts as much on both ends but it was fun to practice some home gunsmithing on.

I think it would make a great truck or camp gun as well.
