It should work. I think flares are fired at much lower pressures then standard rounds, so the barrel probably won't burst. With a single shot break open be careful about overall length not just barrel length. 26" minimum overall is the limit, but unless you severely shorten the stock it should be over that length.

I have a NEF Pardger 12 GA I cut to 18" and finished with alumahyde. I also sanded and refinished the wood to a less "sporty" sheen.
Now I have a 12 GA that hurts as much on both ends but it was fun to practice some home gunsmithing on. I think it would make a great truck or camp gun as well. |

I had the same problem , and this is what I came up with.
Turned it into a AOW. Flares, Bird Bombs, 3 inch 000 Buck....... It does everything
